In this didactic and experiential training institute, participants will be trained on the theory and practice of sociometry, psychodrama and group psychotherapy, and will have the opportunity to practice these techniques and to explore how they can be applied to their current clientele.
The techniques learned can be used as an action method with groups, families, couples and in individual therapy. Training workshops provide a safe and supportive environment in which to experience the various parts of a psychodrama enactment, while learning about overall group process. In addition, it can serve as a place to pursue personal and professional growth, and will provide opportunities for student directing.
This Psychodrama Training is for learning the tools to:
- Help clients connect to themselves and others
- Motivate clients and help them break through denial and progress in treatment
- Build group cohesion
- Deal with conflict in group
- Deal with isolates and cliques in group settings
- Deal with transference and countertransference
- Help clients be aware of and connected to their bodies, in the therapeutic process

Facilitator: Mary Bellofatto, MA, LMHC, NCC, CEDS, TEP
Mary has worked in the Mental Health Field for over 40 years, and brings years of training and experience in the field of addictions, eating disorders and pastoral counseling into the brokenness of relationships. Mary has been in practice in Naples for 25 years, during this time she worked for fifteen years at one of the top ten addictions treatment centers in the nation as Clinical Director and National Training and Aftercare Director.
Mary is owner of Mary Bellofatto Consulting, a training company where she is often on the road leading retreats, seminars and presenting at national conferences on mental health issues, teaching psychodrama as the preferred treatment modality. Mary consults with many of the national treatment centers for addictions and eating disorders as a trainer, supervisor and program development. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Florida, a National Certified Counselor, A Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, (an International Certification), and a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy.
She has served on the Boards of Directors for the International Association of Eating Disorders where she led as President, and has served on the Executive Council of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama for six years. Mary is a certified supervisor for the state of Florida and a certified supervisor for the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. She is an award-winning speaker, a Toastmasters Bronze, Who’s Who in U.S. Executives, and Lexington Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals and National Who’s who in Executives and Professionals.
Her greatest joy is the years of service to many African countries in the area of trauma, reconciliation, and healing.
Mary’s passion for the past five years has been her work in Rwanda, East Congo, Burundi, Uganda, and Sudan Africa in reconciliation and trauma healing for the genocide and war survivors. Mary is known for bringing a deep sense of spirituality to her work, and a great sense of fun. Mary consults with Onsite directing individuals, couples, and family intensives, as well as trauma and living centered week long programs. Her international work with trauma has expanded to Ghana, Africa and the Philippines.
Onsite has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5567. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credt are clearly identified. Onsite is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
