FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Milestones at Onsite Celebrates Two Years and Welcomes Cindy Westcott and Dr. Neil Bomar

Cumberland Furnace, TN – September 1, 2016 – The doors to recovery at Milestones at Onsite have been open for two years and the team of experts continues to grow with the hire of Cindy Westcott, LCSW and Dr. Neil Bomar. Milestones is the residential treatment center built in direct response to Onsite Workshop clients and referrals asking for a deeper level of trauma treatment with the same stature of excellence that Onsite Workshops has brought to its clients for more than thirty years. As Milestones continues to evolve to meet the specific needs of the clients they serve, experts in the field are joining the team to serve those individuals and help them progress with their work and treatment. Trauma expert Cindy Westcott has joined the team as Clinical Director and Dr. Neil Bomar has come on board as Medical Director. Between Westcott and Dr. Bomar, the new leadership team has more than 40 years of experience.

Westcott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and her experience includes more than 22 years in private practice as founder of The Psychological Trauma and Wellness Center of Memphis. She has also developed and facilitated inpatient specialty programs for suicide prevention and for the treatment of complicated grief and PTSD for three different hospitals. She has expanded and facilitated IOP programs for adults and partial hospitalization programs for the treatment of traumatic grief and traumatic stress. Westcott is a level 2 EMDR trained clinician and also utilizes other innovative therapies such as Internal Family Systems, Gestalt and Ego State Experiential therapies, EFT, and others to address the acute and long term effects of childhood neglect and other forms of trauma and abuse. Cindy has spoken nationally on a variety of topics including cultural diversity, women and empowerment, adult children of alcoholics, eating disorders and trauma, and other topics related to grief and trauma recovery.

“I’m honored to have this opportunity to become a part of Milestones at Onsite, where professional integrity and excellence are equaled by a long standing and unapologetic belief in the power of love to heal the human soul,” says Westcott. “I look forward to working with the Onsite team and family as we develop our outreach and program depth while standing firmly on these unchanging principles.”

Dr. Neil Bomar comes to Milestones at Onsite with a varied medical and psychiatric background.  He is an honors graduate of Vanderbilt University and completed his medical degree at The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. An early career in primary and urgent care medicine led him to the University of Kentucky to pursue a residency in Occupational and Preventive Medicine. Bomar practiced occupational and corporate medicine for Toyota and built a busy private psychiatry practice while serving as a consultant for Methodist and Baptist Hospitals. Dr. Bomar has spoken on the regional and national level at symposia for topics such as opioid addiction and the interface between psychiatry and primary care.  He has consulted for companies providing services to geriatric clients as well as clients with intellectual and developmental disorders. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Bomar has served as medical director to substance abuse treatment centers at the intensive outpatient and residential levels.  He has also served as a regional speaker for Pamlabs, Forrest Pharmaceuticals and Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. His breadth of experience in psychiatry and primary care led to a focus in the areas of trauma and addictions. He has been the medical director for the last five years at a non-profit organization providing comprehensive treatment to adolescents with addictions and trauma-related disorders. It is this experience that inspired him to pursue the opportunity at Milestones at Onsite to further his work in the field of trauma and codependency.

“When I joined Milestones I was humbled to see how many of our clients, both nationally and internationally, previously attended some of the most prestigious and storied treatment centers around the world and were being referred to Milestones to complete their treatment process,” says Dr. Bomar. “I see Milestones as an evidence-based, world class treatment center wrapped in a luxury resort. We are able to encourage our clients to trust the process in large part because of the level of trust, harmony and close collaboration that exists among our treating staff.”

CEO of Onsite, Miles Adcox, says “Milestones at Onsite is armored with trauma experts like never before. We are honored to have the high caliber of talent that Cindy and Dr. Bomar bring to the the team and we are already seeing major impacts and life-changing work occur in our clients in the short time they’ve been with us. They will join our world-class clinical team to bring the best care to our guests.”
